The Metropolitan Community Church of New Haven
Welcome!
We are an inclusive
Christian community of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered people, our
families and friends. Our church has been active since 1977. We are
one of about 300 Metropolitan Community Churches in
22 countries around the world, a denomination founded in 1968 by the Rev. Troy Perry.
Social Connection
Having a place for fellowship is central to the nourishment of our communities. Rich and profound relationships are rooted in ongoing communication and connection. Our new space will allow for people to take the much needed time to share their joys, celebrations and challenges.
We are a Christian Church. We believe that God loves all people. We believe that the life and teaching of Jesus Christ is relevant to us today, and we affirm the presence of the risen Christ continuing to heal, challenge and comfort us.
Our Mission Statement:
- celebrate God's unconditional love,
- care for one another,
- cultivate our faith and
- carry God's justice to the world.
Caring
There are many ways that the people of MCC New Haven care for each other through many ministries including the Care Team, the Worship Team, the Music Ministry and Gospel Choir. Active outreach ministries are: Ministry In Motion, liasons to Caring Cuisine and Love Makes a Family. There are folks involved with Child Care and Ushers during Sunday worship, and Lay and Clergy Delegates.
